EXPRESS ENTRY IMMIGRATION DRAWS

Express Entry is Canada’s main immigration system for skilled workers seeking permanent residency. The system manages applications under federal economic programs, including the FSWP, FSTP, and CEC. Eligible candidates enter a pool and are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

What Are Express Entry Draws?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts regular Express Entry draws to invite top-ranked candidates to apply for permanent residency. Each draw sets a minimum CRS cutoff, and candidates who meet or exceed it receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

How the Draw System Works

  • CRS scores are calculated based on age, education, work experience, and language skills.
  • IRCC typically holds draws every two weeks, though schedules may vary.
  • Higher CRS scores increase the chances of receiving an ITA.
  • Draws may target specific programs or categories, such as Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

How to Join the Pool

  1. Create an Express Entry profile on the official IRCC website.
  2. Receive a CRS score based on your qualifications.
  3. Remain in the pool while improving your score (e.g., better language results, provincial nomination, or Canadian job offer).
Tip: A Provincial Nomination can add up to 600 CRS points, significantly increasing your chances of receiving an ITA in the next draw.
